Speech Manager provides a standardized method for Macintosh applications to generate synthesized speech.
An application calls routines in the Speech Manager to convert character strings into speech and to adjust various parameters that affect the quality or character of the spoken output.
The Speech Manager is responsible for dispatching these requests to a speech synthesizer. The speech synthesizer converts the text into sound and creates the actual audio output.
